In order for people to enjoy their work they must not do too much of it

We are still in Canberra...3 weeks after arriving...the longest time we have spent in any one place since we left Edinburgh back in November.
And it is REALLY nice (most of the time)...as Stu said before we are loving the sofa and the room and the space...
But with all this relaxing comes the reason why we are in Canberra for a longer period of time...work!
Stu is currently at work. He has 3 days of work this week (which we think is quite enough - don't want to over do it!)
Meanwhile, I am not long home from work. Today I was working on the bar, which was fun. However it was really quiet again. Who would have thought. The start of a long weekend and the place was dead...sad times! But I don't want to over do it so to be honest I am quite happy...and I imagine that my Sunday shift is going to be rather crazy since there are shuttle buses arriving back from a big horse race and over 500 tickets have been sold by us...can we even fit that number of people in?!
Anyway, I actually have 2 jobs just now. I am working a few evening a week at the bar...and then 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) I am nannying. This is really good fun, but also exhausting! I have Oliver (3) and Leo and Elliot (8 weeks old)...so I am there to help their Mum. This means changing after the babies have been fed, and helping put them to bed, doing some other chores in and around the house. However one of my main jobs is to play with Oliver. Which is great fun, but wow, I do not know where 3 years olds get their energy from...I just wish I could have some.
Well, my next shift is Sunday (today is Friday)...and then I am working Tuesday until Friday...however I am on call for work this weekend and next weekend too. Hoping to get work on Monday as it is a public holiday which makes the pay especially good (keep your fingers crossed!)
All and all it is really nice - but I am glad that I am only working for about 3 weeks...I think I am made for relaxing and not having to work. I wonder if I need to work when I get home...
Looking forward...well, we have the flat until the 15th of March, then we are heading back to Melbourne for a night (thankfully Keira is putting us up)...and then we pick up our RV for the next 52 days...and off we go into the outback and beyond. I am really excited about this.
The crazy thing is that we get back from RVing and we have Sydney and Cairns to see...and then it is off to Asia. This part of the trip is still massively up in the air. We had it all sorted before we left. But then we thought we needed more time to see everything so we decided to cut out a few places (also worked better with Ross who is hopefully coming to see us). Our current issue is getting our China Visa...so hopefully things will get sorted with this soon.
Well, thats about it for just now. I think I might read my book for a little while and then I shall cook...now to consider what I shall make...
