Software Projects

In this section, I'll slowly detail the extra-curricular work I've been involved with, and any work that's worth sharing with the world :)

The Guidebook

The GUI-debook was my dissertation in my Masters, and is still pretty popular with students around the world. It is focused on teaching basic Swing, the libraries Java use to create GUIs.

Matter Consulting

The Matter Consulting job was a set of Applets I developed for Heriot-Watt University in conjunction with the University of Liverpool to display physics-y type things. Like the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). No, I had no idea either, but I was given the maths by better mathematicians than I :)

XiTrack

This is one of my current consultancy jobs, I'm doing a VB.NET app for a PhD student in Heriot-Watt who's involved with the research behind the XiTrack product. Sadly, if you want to see my work, you'll have to pay them for a license.

Edinburgh Speakers Club Website

I've been doing bits and pieces for the Edinburgh Speakers Club, and have put together a website for it. I've since passed the torch of webmaster-ship to Iain (Fiona's Dad), who'll do a grand job of taking care of it. http://edinburghspeakersclub.co.uk/

National ASC Website

I've also been doing some work for the Association of Speakers Clubs on a consultancy basis. The last job involved the Google Maps API, which I intend to write up about once I've finished the work.
